So... Obama Is Saying Senators Can't Read?

“The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill,” Mr. Obama said in the White House rose garden about 90 minutes after the vote. “It came down to politics.”  BUT... The Senators had the Bill right in front of them and they read it, and they chose not to pass it.  So is he saying that the Senators cannot read?  That they, a good number of them lawyers, experienced legislators, could not read the Bill and decide on its merits whether to pass it or not?  Come on, Mr. Commander-In-Cheat... who is really lying here?
